Video card is out now, that thing is fucked, gotta return it.

I just got a new PSU, a Corsair 1kW PSU. So my comp started restarting again so I put the new on in. Also put my video card in hoping it was the PSU from the beginning.

No dice.

Video card is OUT AGAIN. Fuck that shit.

Also my computer still works after switching all the wires out and the PSU. So that is good.

Hopefully it will stop restarting. I am at about 10 mins right now...

I had it to send to Gmail first, but I didn't secure my server so I think what ended up happening was people started sending THOUSANDS of emails to me server, and my server just relayed them to gmail. Soooo my account got banned but I told them I didn't log in for a while and they re-enabled it for some reason

So fuck the gmails, do not like how their SMTP works, everything has to be from my gmail or else it says (by the way of ) rather than just having my which is annoying as hell.

So I got my sympatico smtp back there. That one works great. I got around the STARTTLS issue and php.ini (without shitty phpmailer) by just installing SMTP into my IIS, restricting access to localhost 127.0.0.1, then putting in authentication, use TLS, port 587 for delivery settings and smarthost smtphm.sympatico.ca.

That worked out nicely, wasn't that hard, I remember having a lot of trouble with it before and I can't remember why, that is why I didn't do it til now.

Comin' home this weekend for my birthday and stuff. So see how that goes. I want to buy a new phone, because I really need one. Thinking about an iphone, that should be fun.

There are approximately two billion children (persons under 1 in the world. However, since Santa does not visit children of Muslim, Hindu, Jewish or Buddhist (except maybe in Japan) religions, this reduces the workload for Christmas night to 15% of the total, or 378 million (according to the Population Reference Bureau). At an average census) rate of 3.5 children per household, that comes to 108 million homes, presuming that there is at least one good child in each. Santa has about 31 hours of Christmas to work with, thanks to the different time zones and the rotation of the earth, assuming he travels east to west (which seems logical). This works out to 967.7 visits per second. This is to say that for each Christian household with a good child, Santa has around 1/1000th of a second to park the sleigh, hop out, jump down the chimney, fill the stockings, distribute the remaining presents under the tree, eat whatever snacks have been left for him, get back up the chimney, jump into the sleigh and get on to the next house.

Assuming that each of these 108 million stops is evenly distributed around the earth (which, of course, we know to be false, but will accept for the purposes of our calculations), we are now talking about 0.78 miles per household; a total trip of 75.5 million miles, not counting bathroom stops or breaks. This means Santa's sleigh is moving at 650 miles per second--3,000 times the speed of sound. For purposes of comparison, the fastest man-made vehicle, the Ulysses space probe, moves at a poky 27.4 miles per second, and a conventional reindeer can run (at best) 15 miles per hour. The payload of the sleigh adds another interesting element. Assuming that each child gets nothing more than a medium sized Lego set (two pounds), the sleigh is carrying over 500 thousand tons, not counting Santa himself.

On land, a conventional reindeer can pull no more than 300 pounds. Even granting that the "flying" reindeer could pull ten times the normal amount, the job can't be done with eight or even nine of them-Santa would need 360,000 of them. This increases the payload, not counting the weight of the sleigh, another 54,000 tons, or roughly seven times the weight of the Queen Elizabeth (the ship, not the monarch). 600,000 tons traveling at 650 miles per second creates enormous air resistance-this would heat up the reindeer in the same fashion as a spacecraft re-entering the earth's atmosphere. The lead pair of reindeer would absorb 14.3 quintillion joules of energy per second each. In short, they would burst into flames almost instantaneously, exposing the reindeer behind them and creating deafening sonic booms in their wake.

The entire reindeer team would be vaporized within 4.26 thousandths of a second, or right about the time Santa reached the fifth house on his trip. Not that it matters, however, since Santa, as a result of accelerating from a dead stop to 650 mps. in .001 seconds, would be subjected to acceleration forces of 17,500 g's. A 250 pound Santa (which seems ludicrously slim) would be pinned to the back of the sleigh by 4,315,015 pounds of force, instantly crushing his bones and organs and reducing him to a quivering blob of pink goo.

I guess I should put some garbage on here. I brought my server with my to Waterloo, an set it up yesterday. I hate routers. They just make things unnecessarily difficult.

Anyway. I am doing classes, some of them seem interesting enough. But all of them are slower than what I would like, but hey, I am not even through the first week so meh.

My room is large, my desk is large also. Having so much room is nice, because you can actually walk around in it as opposed to my last place in Waterloo

It was in bad shape, it was breaking down when we REPLACED IT. Either the ram was messed up, or the motherboard was hanging by a thread, but while I was at Waterloo it finally just turned off and didn't turn back on.

So this was kinda a win win, we got my aunt a new compu, a good one. I got her old dell. I know, it is a dell, but it is still like, 3 times better than the old server. I think the old specs were 1 GHz, 1GB of RAM?, blah blah OLD AS CRAP. Nuff said.

It took a long time to get this shit into the dell, hard drive transfer almost worked, until I tried to update to SP2 on Windows 2003 server, then the network connections DISAPPEARD, and all hell broke loose on the machine.

I copied the drives, because the old C: was 10GB! LOL, yeah I needed to swap them because Windows wouldn't fit on it, I didn't have anything else on it. So I used this Paragon Disk Backup software to copy partitions. After copying the partition 3 times and trying to fix it, I decided to just reinstall everything. It wasn't bad, it's just that from my limited knowledge of MySQL tables, my sites got FUCKED UP.

So they did get fucked up. I was just copying over the data files from the mysql installs over, which is baaaad. bad bad. So I decided to learn how to dump the tables (lol, no so much learn, but figure out the command). So I popped in my old drive (thank you for being to small, if I had to wipe you I would be dead!), dumped the tables, put the newer one in, ran the script, BAM, everything works like a charm.

I can't be happier.

Much faster machine. Quieter. MUCH MUCH more efficient. Fresh install, with me actually knowing how to configure everything. This shit runs smoooth now and everything. Got a new CCProxy. Running a DC++ Server, join it; address is: dcpp.lanowen.com
